At the rate breast cancer awareness, science and outreach is progressing, there is the very real hope that by the time today's children reach adulthood, they could be living in a world where breast cancer is no more a threat to any life than the common cold. The Komen Philadelphia Affiliate recognizes and values the special mission of youth in the breast cancer movement, as well as the unique passion and vision they have for seeing an end to breast cancer in their lifetime - and we strive to present them with unique, empowering opportunities to do so.
A special initiative of the Philadelphia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, Teens for the Cure® was founded in 2009 by a group of teens in the Philadelphia area who joined together to help Komen create a world without breast cancer. Many of our teens know the fear and disruption caused by a breast cancer diagnosis in their families. Others have felt the impact of the disease via their friends' families. Through our focus on fundraising, awareness and education, Teens for the Cure empowers teenagers with the knowledge that they can make a difference... the confidence to take action... and the very real hope of an end to breast cancer in their lifetime.

Teens for the Cure works with a dedicated group of moms, as well as professionals and other long-time activists in the breast cancer movement, who lend their support, experience and time to assist in initiatives such as Tickled Pink and other fundraisers and awareness events. In doing so, this special group nurtures within their teens the passion for leading their generation in the fight against breast cancer.
Get involved! For teens. For moms. For Fun. For YOUR world without breast cancer.
Teens for the Cure is a very hands-on opportunity for moms - and dads - as well as teens. in the past, Teens for the Cure activists have participated as a Team in the Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure, organized awareness and educational events in their schools, and raised funds through grassroots efforts such as Tickled Pink and sales of homemade awareness bracelets.
