Pink Ribbon of the Month, November: The Alphabet Soup

OYP... CRW... QCI... CPG... all warmed up with the light of a shining STAR - we endearingly call them our 'Alphabet Soup' of activists, and proudly award the whole 'bowl full' with our November Pink Ribbon of the Month!

This group represents outstanding vendors whose generous donations of their talent and resources help make great successes of the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate fall events by assuring people get to our events!  In other words, these are the teams who donate the design and printing of our invitations and key event signage so that we can communicate all the fun, excitement and importance of the Pink Tie Ball and Teens for the Cure Tickled Pink, motivate participation, and generate impressive fundraising totals that are not diminished by printing and services costs.

These are: Old York Road Printing (OYP), The Star Group, The Creative Print Group (CPG), CRW Graphics, and Quaker Chroma Imaging! Their story of involvement and passion for the breast cancer movement is one we happily share with you as a way to show our appreciation, as well as inspire all of you in your own activism.

Pink Tie Ball Invitation, compliments of OYP & Star
2011 marks the second year Old York Road Printing donated the entire printing of the Komen Philadelphia Pink Tie Ball invitation - and if you've ever seen this invitation, you know... it's far from ordinary! For an event of this caliber, we require something altogether elegant, energetic, and first-class with lots of intriguing pages and inserts. OYP has come through with shining colors, literally... donating thousands of dollars in services and materials, with exceptional quality, lightening speed and a clear devotion to helping us end breast cancer forever.

Speaking of the Pink Tie Ball Invitation, DITTO when it comes to The Star Group! Exceptional quality. Lightening speed. Stellar attention to detail. Design and copywriting that turns heads, builds excitement and captures hearts. And, A-to-Z service for the invitation from concept to the moment they are dropped in the mail. Star has donated the creative and management of our showcase invitation for five consecutive years!

CRW donates the printing & mailing for Tickled Pink

And, of course, all those invitations have to get addressed and mailed. For this, we thank The Creative Print Group, who has donated
this service for several years... again, with lightening speed and incredible attention to detail.

As for our other major fall event, Tickled Pink, CRW Graphics has been at the helm for the past two years, donating the printing and mailing service for our invitation. A unique celebration with equally unique printing needs to capture the fun of our teen communityand the maturity with which they embrace their responsibility to empower the breast cancer movement, for two wonderful years, CRW has delivered it all with professional excellence and personal passion that radiates from every drop of ink!

Last, but not least, we tip our hat to Quaker Chroma Imaging, who has been supporting The Affiliate for over a decade with everything from their donation of the cherished "SURVIVORS" banner that heralds our Race for the Cure Parade of Pink, to, more recently printing all our Pink Tie Ball and Tickled Pink signage for a next-to-nothing cost at an out-of-this-world quality.

Every year Quaker Chroma Imaging donates the Race for the Cure survivor banner

Not only do all the companies in our 'Alphabet Soup" make the donations above, but year-round they serve The Affiliate while offering truly incredible discounts, finding other ways to donate and help us cut costs, putting in hours beyond 9-to-5, and volunteering their time to serve on committees and help out at our events. And so, you can see, these companies are much more that just vendors... they are true FRIENDS to the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate and everyone counting on us to save lives and empower the cures.
