After All, it IS Mother's Day

A three-year breast cancer survivor from Allentown, PA shares the experience of her first Race for the Cure with the Lehigh Valley community.

May 8 was the Susan G. Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure. Even though it was Mother's Day, it was definitely worth the 5K... the walk of my life. It was the first time for me to do the walk being a cancer survivor of three years. Is was the most touching walk to do with my group, the Lehigh Valley Sole Sistas, and all of the other people.

I will give up Mother's Day again next year and hoping this time my daughter, Tracy, will be walking by my side. I'm sure there are a lot more people who feel the same as I do that the Race is a wonderful thing to do, no matter what you have to give up. It gave me a feeling of hope for everybody suffering from breast cancer.
